The Club is open to sports men, women, and families. BISC provides three ranges for members and the public: archery, shotgun, pistol-caliber. Operated and maintained by volunteers, BISC operates these outdoor venues to promote recreational shooting sports, gun safety and to educate the community in the safe, proper use of firearms and archery equipment for recreation, competition, hunting. BISC has a special emphasis on youth archery programs. In April, BISC hosts a free Kids Fishing Derby. At Thanksgiving and Christmas, BISC hosts holiday meals for those in need. For lessons, coaching, or practice for archery, shooting and fly-casting, contact the club. An Island tradition for over 90 years, BISC annually hosts WDFW Hunter’s Education courses. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and other groups can use the clubhouse for meetings. In June, BISC awards a scholarship to a graduating high school senior.

Bainbridge Island Ultimate (BIU) is a nonprofit sports group organized and run by volunteers, a board, and coaches who are dedicated to teaching and supporting Ultimate frisbee opportunities for current and future high school players. Ultimate is a gender inclusive, multiage, self-officiated sport, known for its unique “Spirit of the Game,” which focuses on sportspersonship and fair play. While competitive play is encouraged, it isn’t at the expense of respect between players, adherence to the rules, and the basic joy of play. Ultimate teams receive “spirit scores” from opponents, and are rated on characteristics such as kindness, friendliness, fairness, positivity, respect, and enthusiasm. Games often conclude with a “spirit circle,” where teams give each other high-fives and shout-outs in a group setting. Bainbridge Island Ultimate fosters a sense of belonging, self-worth, cooperation, confidence, fun, and camaraderie. At BIU we work to keep this “spirit” alive and well!

Founded over 40 years ago, our volunteer-run nonprofit water polo club has become a fixture of Bainbridge Island and a recognized competitive force across the Pacific Northwest. We provide water polo programs for all ages and skill levels—from beginners just learning the game to masters-level athletes. Our mission is to build community, foster athletic development, and support youth through teamwork, discipline, and sport.

As a community-based organization, we rely on donations, sponsorships, and program fees to sustain operations. With our home pool undergoing a major remodel, we are temporarily relocating off-island and expanding our efforts to ensure continued access to the sport through transportation and logistical support for our athletes and families.

Good Play America (GPA) Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to harnessing the power of sports and education to create meaningful opportunities for children and communities. Through various initiatives and events, GPA fosters play, cultural connections, and social impact. A key effort involves collecting soccer cleats and equipment in the United States—starting on Bainbridge Island—and redistributing them to children in South America, beginning in Cali, Colombia.

Our initiatives provide young athletes with the resources they need to thrive on and off the field while promoting awareness, diversity, equity, play, education, sustainability, and cultural exchange. Through generous donations and partnerships, GPA ensures that hundreds of children, regardless of background, access the beautiful game and its life-changing benefits. Ultimately, GPA strives to unlock soccer’s potential for thousands of children in South America, empowering them to pursue their dreams.

We are a women-led, girls’ soccer organization built to cultivate a competitive soccer program that empowers, educates, and supports girls who play soccer and women who coach. When girls see themselves represented in the strong female coaching staff and board leadership, they are more likely to keep playing soccer and to reap the benefits of increased self-esteem and confidence that come with it. We believe in holistic player development and offer yoga and mental skills training as part of our programming. Intentional community building is a core component for us as well — when players and families feel a sense of belonging, they are more likely to continue playing sports. In our first year, we hosted or participated in over ten different community events!
