Kids in Concert

Kids In Concert (KIC) is a nonprofit youth development program that provides tuition-free, barrier-free orchestral and choral music education to children ages 6–18 from across North Kitsap. Founded in 2010, KIC believes in the power of music to cultivate compassion, resilience, and developmental well-being. What began with 11 students and paper violins has grown into two orchestras, a chamber choir, and multiple ensembles serving more than 90 students annually.

Our programming is designed to be radically accessible: no auditions, no prior experience, and no family financial contribution are required. Every student receives their own instrument and up to 10 hours per week of high-quality instruction in strings, percussion, choir, and music theory—supported by our unique “Healthy and Whole” curriculum, which fosters emotional regulation, decision-making, and self-awareness.

At KIC, students develop technical and artistic skills while building the confidence, leadership, and community connection that prepare them for life beyond the program.
