SEA Discovery Center
SEA Discovery Center’s mission is to inspire stewardship of the Salish Sea. SEA (formerly Poulsbo Marine Science Center) connects the community to regional animals, habitats and cultures through aquarium experiences, school visits and conservation engagement.
SEA Discovery Center has a long history as an educational resource built by the community, to serve the community. For 58 years, SEA has fulfilled its mission for the 20,000+ visitors, 800+ Kitsap and Tribal school students, 50 volunteers and 12 conservation engagement programs each year. Through hands-on marine-science experiences, visitors, students, volunteers and community members make direct connections to the local ecosystem, the larger Salish Sea and Earth’s climate crisis. Sixty-four percent of the visitors are from Kitsap County and 42% are children.
To remain accessible, SEA is committed to remaining free of charge and providing free field trips programs, so everyone has the same opportunity to explore the wonders of our marine environment.
