Cancer is a disease that knows no boundaries. The Kathleen Sutton Fund (KSF) has a single and simple mission: To reimburse transportation costs for women undergoing treatment for cancer, living in Clallam, Jefferson, Kitsap, and Mason Counties. Since 2003, KSF has been providing assistance to defer transportation costs for over 1200 women, with over $770,000. Many patients find themselves in dire financial difficulties, forced to choose between paying the rent or receiving treatment. The fund covers mileage, ferry fees, parking & other transit expenses while undergoing cancer treatment, providing some measure of financial relief during this difficult time, with a goal to allow them to focus on healing. In 2021: -Total number of women assisted: 168 women with $122,9475 -Amount distributed to Bainbridge Island residents: $13,398. Thank you for your support.
