Butler Green Farm School

Brian MacWhorter, founder of Butler Green Farm School, has been farming on Bainbridge since 1984, producing food for our farmer’s market, stores, restaurants and CSA.

The BGFS is educating the community about the importance of raising the next generation of stewards/farmers to continue to provide food for our community. We invite elementary kids to visit the farm and get their hands in the soil and have partnered with BHS students to attend field-classes to better understand how important our island farms are to their community.

As I experienced raising my own two daughters, getting them in the garden at an early age, pulling carrots and picking fresh strawberries made all the difference in developing their healthy eating habits. BGFS is committed to cultivate this next generation of stewards to keep our farms alive.

By supporting BGFS you also become stewards of our farmland. Just remember, without farmers, we no longer have island farms.
