Community Response Fund at BCF
The Community Response Fund at Bainbridge Community Foundation provides financial resources to nonprofits addressing urgent health, housing, or human services needs on Bainbridge Island, especially during times of economic hardship or human or natural disaster.
This fund served as a critical safety net for nonprofits during COVID-19, when many feared they would have to close their doors due to lost funding. More recently, grants have helped address food cutbacks caused by federal funding reductions. To date, the fund has awarded more than $310,000 in grants since its founding less than ten years ago.
Nonprofits that receive grants are addressing urgent or emergent needs, replacing or providing temporary funding for programs or operational expenses that meet critical community needs, and benefiting the greatest number of people or the most underserved populations on Bainbridge Island.
