Island Volunteer Caregivers

For 25 years, IVC has connected older adults and people with disabilities or medical conditions with a network of 200-plus caring volunteers to maintain their independence and dignity. Our free services include transportation for medical appointments and errands, walking groups and field trips, grocery and prescription pickup, yard and pet care, and phone buddies to over 400 clients. We also offer grief groups to anyone in the community. During the pandemic, we delivered over 400 holiday meals to our neighbors and partnered with the city, Bainbridge Prepares, Bainbridge Senior Center, and Bainbridge Community Pharmacy to vaccinate over 700 people aged 65-plus. We look forward to delivering hundreds of donated homegrown bouquets this summer through our annual Flowers From the Heart program—and keeping our neighbor-to-neighbor connections blossoming through helping hands and open hearts.
